from Pathuriaghata Rajbari, West Bengal.
Son and disciple of
Pandit Sripati Das
, who was a disciple of Enayat Khan,
the legendary sitarist and surbahar player and father of famous sitarist, Vilayat Khan.
Received talim from Ustad Vilayat Khan until joining All India Radio.
A graded artist with All India Radio and associated with All India Radio
for more than 33 years as a Staff Artist.
A youth artist and also received the President Award in Rudra Veena
in All India Radio Music competition.
He is the father of
Bikramjeet Das.
