Bishoke Sil was born and brought up in a musician family of North Calcutta. Bishoke started learning Sitar from his
elder sister, Mira, at the age of 9 years. After that, he was sent to
Acharya Birendra Kishore Roy Chowdhury,
the great Beenkar mastereo. Till the expiry of Birendra Kishore, Bishoke was taught in Rudra Veena and Sitar.
Under the guidance of Birendra Kishore Roy Chowdhury, Sri Sil completed a six year course in Badya Pravakar.

Kukuv Khan brought it Calcutta, in 1904.
Story of 120 years old RUDRA VEENA which is there in the City of Joy Kolkata.
Shri BISHOKE SIL is the person who is trying hard to keep this legacy.
